Modelling of adjustable web applications: concepts and methods
E-business and M-business lead to an increasing need of services, which is going to make possible the ubiquitous access. Ubiquitous or all-pervasive, web applications make personalised services available in any time, in any place via the most pleasing media. One basic requirement which is needed before these services can be placed available is the consideration of the application’s context. The development of such an application requires suitable modelling methods. After that is the web application adjustable and it places the wanted services available corresponding to the particular context, so the user, the device demand and the other surrounding conditions are corresponding too. Existing modelling methods are considering these aspects only insufficient.
That is why SCCH takes these challenges and develops a method for modelling adjustable web applications. These methods are based on well-established standards (UML) and they make possible the most flexible support of the designers. The dynamic aspect of the ubiquitous web applications stays in this case in the foreground. Moreover a line of tools is supporting the specification of the adjustability in frames of integrated processes with special attention to reuse.
The goal is the definition of modelling process, which is going to offer a general view to the development of ubiquitous web applications.
